Another night

Just another night of scanning through instagram, tumblr and blogs when I should be heading to be......what can I say fashion is addictive!

My vibe

I can't seem to get my head out of a bohemian day dream; printed kimonos, long summer days, messy hair, stacked jewelry, freckled beauties, endless fruit, sun kissed skin and day after day in bikinis.

Summer get away

January is nearly over and what a wonderful start to the year it has been. Although my family left me behind to travel overseas, I definitely enjoyed the benefits of being alone; reading, cooking new food, yoga, seeing friends, cleaning when I want! Don't worry I know I sound like a grandma..ha But I am sure everyone can relate to the feeling of having the house all to yourself and almost becoming overwhelmed with the power to do whatever you want without interruption or disapproval. This is probably why I hear of many people walking around in their underwear when home alone haha

After the first week of complete relaxation, I went to Melbourne for full on power shopping, eating, socializing and tennis watching. Despite the extreme heat (of course we went during the 40 degree heat wave), my friend Hannah and I walked roamed around Northcote, Fitzroy, Collingwood and Richmond searching through all the amazing vintage stores and cute boutiques. My two favourite stores were Vintage Garage on Smith St and the Lost & Found market just off on Perry St. We spent hours and hours just in these two alone, in fact we forgot to have lunch. In photo 12 you can see only two of the many purchases I made at Lost & Found. If you ever get the chance to check this place out make sure you find Leah's stall, she stocks beautiful vintage pieces! Otherwise search her blog and online store Old World New Vintage and if you're in Adelaide then look out for her at the Garden of Unearthly Delights this February. From Vintage Garage I bought the beautiful kaftan featured in photo 14, which was perfect for my friend Rosie's bohemian 21st . Some of my other favourite purchases were my printed We Are Handsome shoes featured in photo 6, Gorman dress and shoes from Gorman Surprise on Bridge Rd in photo 18 and acid denim skirt from Vintage Sole on Brunswick St (sorry no photo). Believe me when I say I am only naming a few purchases, Han and I literally shopped till we dropped (I have the blisters to prove it) but just like any true fashion addict the clothes were worth the pain haha. Of course all this shopping meant we had to fuel ourselves with good food and Han found us some amazing places to eat (Ah the beauty of traveling with a chef). My favourite included Barry and Food Pedallers Organic store on High St and Vegie Bar on Brunswick. In between eating and shopping, we snuck in a night at the Australian Open. Hannah is a Nadal fanatic so I bought tickets for her 21st present to see him play in Rod Laver Arena. Fair to say we had a great time despite missing our flight home....

The last few days I have been celebrating birthdays and relaxing in Myponga with friends, which seemed like a dream. Birthday food, dancing, sangria, salty hair, tanned skin, swimming, climbing the rocks, kayaking; it really doesn't get any better than that.

Despite so much going on, this month have given me time to reflect, determine my goals for this year and work out what is important to me. Furthermore, I have been inspired by the many people I have met away as well from my friends. Although I love Melbourne (future home) and the beach, it is nice to be back in Adelaide and put my new drive into action. I hope you enjoy my holiday pictures :)
